    MINDSET

Managing human interests and energies

Developing learning and problem-solving communities requires a facilitator's mindset rather than a trainer's mindset that conveys information and explanations. Here you will become familiar with this useful perspective for generating a higher level of buy-in and engagement.

  • What are learning communities and what benefits can they bring to the organisation? In what contexts and how do they help us?
  • What should we focus on when developing learning communities?
  • Pitfalls to avoid in facilitating dynamic communities

    KNOWLEDGE

Simple steps for taking action

Community facilitation is mostly helped by constant action and interaction, and less by endless analysis and planning. Here we'll help you avoid the trap of getting stuck in the "plan" and adopt some practices that deliver immediate results.

  • Typologies of learning communities and the favourable contexts for each
  • A simple but robust framework for defining community objectives, identifying resources to draw on and stakeholders to engage, and aligning key action streams
  • Practices for generating interest and managing human dynamics within formed learning communities
  • Development of communication plans and regular campaigns

    PRACTICE

Getting used to working practices

Collaborative practice on generic projects, with feedback from the trainer and group mates. You will learn the prerequisites for skills that you can then practise on your own.

  • collaborative reflection exercises - analysis of pre-established learning community scenarios
  • working on a generic project - organising a specific community proposed by E-Campus

    TECHNOLOGY

Examples of relevant technologies

In this programme you will become familiar with the technical functionalities useful for developing and maintaining learning communities. We will also go through some examples of online applications and platforms.

  • Criteria for choosing applications and tools
  • Key technical functionalities in facilitating collaboration
  • Recommendations of useful apps and platforms for communities

    COMMUNITY

Optimal collaboration and support ratio

Upon enrolment in the programme you will receive access to the Learn@E-Campus platform, a collaborative learning and working space. What you will find here:

  • course resources and materials for study and later review
  • spaces for discussion and collaboration with colleagues
  • support from the trainer during the course session
  • E-Campus L&D community news, articles and events
