In this short course you will acquire the following:

  • an understanding of usage contexts and the benefits of curation
  • the learning content curation process
  • criteria for choosing the technology to use in curation

Agenda and program content

Duration: 2 online sessions of 2 hours each, separated by a 15-minute break.

Methodology: it alternates explanations and examples with practice on generic projects and moments of collaborative reflection.

Platform: Zoom Meetings for live sessions. Additionally, participants receive access to a dedicated group in the Learn@E-Campus platform where they have at their disposal the program content, resources, and support from fellow students.

Group: a maximum of 12-15 people to ensure an optimal level of interactivity and collaboration.

    MINDSET      

From course design to content curation

Content curation complements the work of designing and developing learning experiences by stimulating curiosity and encouraging a habit of learning.

  • understanding the learning curator role and its place in the L&D team - responsibilities, objectives, decisions, relationships, etc.
  • the curatorial mindset - what do we focus on and what pitfalls should we avoid?

    KNOWLEDGE      

Useful practices in content curation

Relevant and impactful practices in developing and implementing a learning content curation strategy.

  • what is learning content curation and how does it differ from Instructional Design?
  • what are the benefits and opportunities this type of curatorship offers companies?
  • familiarisation with the I.F.C.D.I. process (Identify, Filter, Contextualise, Distribute, Improve)
  • strategies and practices to increase the impact of content curation dedicated to learning
  • Digital Learning Paths Design - putting content at the service of different roles in the organisation

    PRACTICE      

Getting used to working practices

Collaborative practice on generic projects, with feedback from the trainer and group mates. You will learn the prerequisites for skills that you can then practise on your own.

  • collaborative reflection exercises - analysis of a curatorial campaign exemplified by E-Campus
  • working on a generic project - selecting and contextualising learning content according to the objectives and audience of the case study provided by the E-Campus team

In this program you will become familiar with the technical functionalities useful for selecting, contextualising and distributing learning content. We will also go through some examples of online applications and platforms.
