The aim of this short and accessible program is to quickly equip you with the knowledge, working practices & key tools to use in the successful delivery of online training sessions.

If you're just starting out as a trainer or have limited experience delivering online sessions, you'll get:

  • ready-to-use practices and tools
  • encouragement and confidence in your own strengths as a digital trainer

If you already have consistent experience delivering digital training sessions, participating in this program will give you:

Agenda and program content

Duration: 2 online sessions of 2 hours each, separated by a 15-minute break.

Methodology: it alternates explanations and examples with practice on generic projects and moments of collaborative reflection.

Platform: Zoom Meetings for live sessions. Additionally, participants receive access to a dedicated group in the Learn@E-Campus platform where they have at their disposal the program content, resources, and support from fellow students.

Group: a maximum of 12-15 people to ensure an optimal level of interactivity and collaboration.

Here is the content and activities of the program, ordered according to the different impact areas targeted:

    MINDSET      

From an analogue to a digital mindset

Delivering impactful online training sessions involves more than just moving what we are used to delivering in the classroom to different platforms. We need to accommodate our own expectations and the way we manage control of different dynamics.

  • understanding the psychology and specifics of digital learning
  • acquiring the premises of a digital mindset as a trainer
  • ways to manage your emotions online
  • exercising control - how do you know they are paying attention?
  • assessing personal relationship with technology

    KNOWLEDGE      

Minimum knowledge and skills

This program gives you the advantage of browsing key knowledge in one place without wasting time searching. We have carefully selected for you the elements of expertise that contribute most to the success of online sessions.

  • reviewing the trainer's role and challenges in the online environment
  • types of online sessions and practical scenarios in which we encounter them
  • planning and preparation of session delivery: course delivery, materials and equipment, technical risk management
  • opening the session: clarifying the framework, managing the expectations and psychological contracting, ensuring an optimal level of learner discipline and commitment
  • techniques for providing impactful explanations and examples
  • use of various limited interactivity techniques: chat or verbal questions, quizzes, surveys, etc. Do's & don'ts.
  • facilitating discussions and team work (Breakout Rooms) using whiteboards or collaborative spaces
  • managing creative and/or gamified recaps
  • closing techniques online training sessions
  • handling difficult situations: closed rooms, inactive audience

    PRACTICE      

Getting used to working practices

Collaborative practice on generic projects, with feedback from the trainer and group mates. You will learn the prerequisites for skills that you can then practise on your own.

  • Individual and collaborative reflection exercises for each of the key stages of the training programme: discussing the different applications that learners anticipate in their specific context, their benefits and limitations
  • working on a generic project: practising the key steps (planning, opening, facilitating discussions and practical exercises); participants will refer to an online E-Campus program used as a case study

    TECHNOLOGY      

A selection of IT applications to use

In this program, you will become familiar with a carefully chosen set of IT applications useful for the successful delivery of online sessions. Of course, they are not the only ones possible, but it's a good start.

  • Online live sessions platform: Zoom Meetings, MS Teams, Webex, Butter
  • Collaborative workspaces: whiteboards, Mural, Google Suite, Office 365
  • Quizzes, polls, interactions: Zoom & MS Teams Apps Marketplace
  • Games, simulations: Kahoot, Zoom Apps Marketplace
  • A.I. tools dedicated to different training session needs
